TPG suffers Australia-wide internet problems – Telco/ISP

Prospects of TPG and its subsidiary models experienced a two-hour outage of net and voice providers nationwide.

The troubles started at all over 12.30pm AEDT and had been solved at two.30pm.

TPG explained in a temporary advisory that the “unplanned” outage brought about “NBN, ADSL, TPG FTTB net and property cellular phone relationship difficulties”.

It explained IT and specialized teams experienced investigated the difficulties “as a precedence” and apologised to users “for the inconvenience”. 

Subsidiary manufacturer iiNet proposed the root cause is a area name process (DNS) fault.

“As a workaround, working with an alternate publicly out there DNS may possibly guide in restoring connectivity to the net and VOIP for clients,” it explained.

Users of the Whirlpool broadband forum also noted that changing the DNS settings of their modem – where by probable – was resolving the connectivity difficulties.
